A Conversation with Lindsay Handler of Delta40
When Lindsay Handler speaks about Africa, it’s with the clarity of someone who sees both urgency and possibility. As Co-Founder and Managing Director of Delta40 Venture Studios, her mission is straightforward yet ambitious: increase incomes and tackle climate change in Africa by building and investing in inclusive climate innovations.
In our conversation, Lindsay reflected on why Delta40 chooses to build in Africa. By 2100, she explained, 40% of the world’s population will live on this continent. That scale of growth makes Africa not just important, but essential to the future of the planet. The sectors Delta40 prioritizes, energy, agriculture, and mobility—are not only central to sustainable growth, they are inseparable from the climate question. “We only have 10 years to act to prevent irreparable damage to Earth,” she noted. “Africa is where climate solutions can have the biggest impact.”
But Lindsay is equally clear that capital alone isn’t enough. Delta40’s venture studio model offers something more: hands-on support, shared services, and partnerships designed to accelerate both financial returns and impact. “We don’t just write a check,” she told us. “We roll up our sleeves alongside our founders to increase speed, resilience, and results.”
